Jim Balsillie
Former Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion (BlackBerry)
Jim Balsillie’s is a former Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion (BlackBerry), a technology company he scaled from an idea to $20 billion in sales globally. He is the co-founder of the Institute for New Economic Thinking in New York, the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) based in Toronto, the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo, Centre for Digital Rights and the CIO Strategy Council. He currently chairs the boards of CCI, CIGI, and co-Chairs CIOSC. He is also the founder of the Balsillie School of International Affairs and the Arctic Research Foundation. Mr. Balsillie is the only Canadian ever appointed to US Business Council and the sole private sector representative on the UN Secretary General’s High Panel for Sustainability. He is the only Canadian member of the US Council on Competitiveness where he serves on the Executive Committee, an internationally renowned voice on innovation strategy, competitiveness and international economic policy.

As ServiceNow’s global VP of Innovation, Chris brings more than 15 years of C-level executive experience with leading technology solutions and platforms across Product Management and Strategy. Chris’ has worked at and with the largest organizations globally and is recognized as a thought leader in process and methodology.

Marco Trecroce
Senior VP & CIO, Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts
Marco Trecroce joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 2010 as the Company’s first CIO. During his time at Four Seasons he has led the company through an extensive global IT and business transformation. The Company has invested heavily in cloud-based technologies for its hotels, resorts and residential properties as well as its global corporate offices.

Marco has diverse international experience. He started his career at IBM in sales before joining Andersen’s IT Consulting Practice. Moving to the United Kingdom in 1999, he assumed a number of CIO, COO and senior executive positions specializing in business transformation for companies such as Airtours, Thomas Cook and Opodo, an Amadeus online travel company, before returning to Canada in 2006.


Jan Bradley
Director and Chief Information Technology Officer, The City of Calgary
As the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), Jan’s role is to enable City business units to use technology to deliver services to citizens. Jan has worked for over 30 years in the information technology industry and has been working with the City since 2006. During her time with the City, Jan has held progressively more responsible roles including project manager, Leader and Manager of Client Solutions where she provided leadership to project managers, digital strategy, enterprise architects and foundational eGovernment development teams. Her number one priority is to position Information Technology as a strategic partner to business units in order to deliver on the City’s purpose, “Making life better every day”.

CIO and Chief Content Officer at IT World Canada (ITWC)
He is also a researcher, writer, speaker, and notable event moderator. Over his 40-year career, Jim has held executive positions in both technology and marketing.

Jim’s work appears frequently in leading publications in Canada and around the globe. His latest book Digital Transformation in the First Person was written with his business partner Fawn Annan. The book details the digital transformation of the iconic Canadian publisher IT World Canada (ITWC). He is well known to readers of IT World Canada, IT Business, and other tech publications.

Tanvir Bhangoo
VP Technology, Freshii
Tanvir is an accomplished digital transformations leader, speaker, and an advisor, putting people and culture first. He has a successful track record in helping large global organizations gain competitive, cost, and operational advantages through key digital transformations. Some of his experience includes various tech leadership and consultative roles at Restaurant Brands International, Exxon Mobil (Imperial Oil), and Freshii (fast casual and CPG brand). Currently, he is VP of Technology at Freshii, spearheading an end-to-end digital transformation to drive revenue and profitability through digital channels.

Chris Ruetz
AVP & Country Manager Cyberark
Chris Ruetz is the Area Vice President of CyberArk Canada and specializes in assisting Canadian security leaders to understand the importance of developing privilege access security programs. These programs include Application Security, Digital Transformation to the Cloud & Dev Ops and Securing the Workstation with a Least Privilege model. Ruetz has more than 20 years of IT and Security experience with world class software companies such as Cisco, Nortel, Novell and Westcon Group in Management roles.


Dana Reed
Distinguished Sales Engineer, SailPoint
Dana is a SailPoint Distinguished Sales Engineer and Lead Sales Liaison for SailPoint’s Predictive Identity ‘IdentityAI’ product. Dana has over 18 years in Identity Management, having applied IGA experience in most vertical markets, including Health Care, Retail, Finance, Defense, and Higher Education. Dana’s career IAM experience spans the full breadth of IAM related responsibilities, including Software Development, Implementation, Design, Business Process Consulting, Software Sales, & Sales Engineering.

Terry Cutler
CEO of Cyology Labs
Terry Cutler is the CEO of Cyology Labs and is an international award-winning cybersecurity expert, Amazon Best Seller and Ethical Hacker known for his catchy online videos, numerous television appearances, and top-level consulting services. Over the past 20 years, he’s advised some of Canada’s largest companies on how to prevent and remedy internal and external security penetration. For the general public, he developed an effective online learning program called Internet Safety University. With over 26,000 students from over 150 counties, he’s helped educate his pupils on cyber-crime, spying, security failures, internet scams, and the real social networking dangers that families and individuals face every day. Terry was named IFSEC Global’s Top 20 Most Influential People in Cybersecurity for 2018 and again in 2019

Loren Padelford
VP and GM at Shopify
Loren Padelford is the General Manager of Shopify Plus and a corporate Vice President at Shopify. Shopify Plus powers mid-market and enterprise commerce. His team includes R&D, marketing, sales, account management and operations. Over the past 5 years Shopify Plus has grown to hundreds of millions in revenue, and from a team of less than 5 to over 500 people worldwide. In addition to leading Shopify Plus, Loren is responsible for Shopify's regulated products team, providing safe, secure and reliable commerce solutions to the cannabis, alcohol and other regulated industries. Prior to Shopify, Loren held senior leadership positions in sales and marketing at software firms in Canada, the US, and the UK.

Samantha Liscio
Ph.D. Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, WSIB
As Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at the WSIB, Samantha is responsible for digital transformation, leveraging technology and customer experience to streamline processes, provide value and modernize the business. She owns the establishment and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy that drives IT service excellence, directs innovation and develops the capabilities and capacity to support evolving business needs, while ensuring the highest possible value from technology assets and investments. Samantha has over 20 years of experience in IT leadership roles. In previous positions with eHealth Ontario, Accenture, and the Ontario Public Service, she led the design and implementation of large-scale digital transformative initiatives.


Carol Wilson
Director Advanced Analytics, Canada Post
Carol currently leads a team of data scientists at Canada Post Corporation as Director of Advanced Analytics. Carol’s professional career began in market research with Narrative Research (formerly Corporate Research Associates) back in 1997, where she began as a data analyst and rose within the company to be Managing Director of New Brunswick 13 years later. In 2010, Carol moved to the international stage and managed a team of data scientists and researchers located around the globe with IGT, the world’s leading slot machine manufacturer.

Gerry Owens
IT Risk Management and Cyber Security Executive
Gerry has over 30 years experience in Information Technology, leading infrastructure initiatives, establishing strong IT risk programs and building cyber security capabilities. He spent the majority of his career with TD Bank, werving until 2018 as the Vice President - Enterprise Identity and Access Management Technology Risk Management & Information Security

Founder, Binary Tattoo
Cat Coode is the founder of Binary Tattoo, with a mission to help safeguard your data and protect your digital identity. Backed by two decades of experience in mobile development and software architecture, as well as a certification in data privacy law, Cat helps corporations and individuals better understand cybersecurity and data privacy. She specializes in guiding companies through end-to-end Global Privacy Regulation compliance and delivering privacy education seminars. Bradley has spent the past eight years leading an IT revolution at the Nature Fresh Farms, a greenhouse operation with facilities in Leamington, ON and Delta, OH.The business employs IT-fuel technology and advanced data analytics to provide non-GMO produce year-round to key retailers throughout North America. Prior to joining Nature Fresh Farms Bradley worked with MSPs serving the Essex County area in Ontario.

Kimberley St. Pierre
Director of Strategic Accounts, Tanium
Kimberley St. Pierre has worked in IT & Business Development for over 20 years. She has worked for Canadian technology giants TELUS and Bell, and also has experience working for the world’s largest cybersecurity vendors. Kimberley has a strong desire to build and maintain trusted long term business relationships. She is making meaningful contributions to her customers and business partners by showing them how to effectively leverage technology to accomplish their strategic goals. Paula Allen

Paula Allen is Senior Vice President of Research, Analytics and Innovation for Morneau Shepell. In this role, manages the continuum of integrated analytics, predictive modelling and data-centric products and services that support the organization and its clients. Paula’s focus is on the current, emerging and most complex issues that have the greatest impact on workplace health, cost and productivity. She is also a well-recognized expert in workplace mental health, disability management, and drug plan management.

Paula designed and led the most comprehensive employer response to the H1N1 pandemic, and is currently Morneau Shepell’s business response and resource lead for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paula works directly with many of Canada’s leading organizations, is a member of the Women’s College Hospital’s Board of Directors, was co-chair of Civic Action’s Champions Council on workplace mental health, was part of the Income Security Working Group providing advice to the Ontario Government on issues relating to disability and income support, and sits on several research and strategy advisory boards that address issues ranging from e-mental health solutions to substance abuse in the workplace.

Paula completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Toronto in psychological research and neuropsychological testing and clinical intervention. She has more than 20 years of experience relating to workplace research, product development and operational leadership that spans the range of EFAP, Attendance and Disability Management and Health and Benefits Consulting.

Paula frequently speaks at major conferences, and is often sought out by the national media for her knowledge and expertise in current issues and the future direction of workplace health, productivity and related risk management.

Anand Medepalli Ph.D.

For over 25 years, Dr. Anand Medepalli has been a disruptive innovator, with a solid record in leveraging latest advances in technology to consult with and deliver innovative decision support solutions to leading companies worldwide in Retail, Supply Chain, Travel and Financial industries. He is Head of Solutions at Element AI, where his responsibility is to deliver AI solutions to the Supply Chain & Financial sectors. Prior to this, Dr. Medepalli was Element AI's Head of Products and led the release of the first set of innovative AI products for the company.

Before Element AI, Dr. Medepalli held Chief Product Officer and Head of Data Science roles where he leveraged the latest advances in technology to drive innovation-led product and go-to-market strategies in such companies as RateGain and JDA Software. Digital Transformation Week culminates with a focus on the CIO perspective and the CIO of the Year Awards, supported by ITWC and the CIO Association of Canada. Humza Teherany, Chief Digital Officer with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and President of the CIO Association of Canada will serve as emcee for the presentation program.
